You must Login to your songlist before you can change the Song List Preferences. This allows you to designate which users of a group are allowed to change your song List.
Songs Per Set
You may select from 1 to 100 songs per set. Whatever number you select, if you select 7 songs per set, for example, a bright separator appears between every 7 songs, dividing one set from another.
Sort By
The default Sort-By setting is Sort Order, which is the number assigned to a song's order. In Sort By Sort Order mode, the Song List app makes a perfect Set List, that can be used on mobile devices. Other Sort-By choices are Title, Artist, Key and Category.
Other choices than the default may be useful, depending how the user choses to enter information. For Example, placing 'Dance' at the beginning of the title of every song which fits that category will group such songs together.
Sorting by Artist will sort alphabetically by each artist's name. The same is true for Title and Category. You might even find a reason to sort by the Key of the songs in your list, in this sense sorting does not serve as a filter, but as a grouper.
Search Box
There is a built in Searchbox on the home page which filters by the exact spelling you use to title your songs (not case sensitive). For example, typing in 'WH' or 'wh' will find titles that begin with 'wh' such as 'why...', 'white...', 'when...', etc. Adding a 'y' ('why') will filter all of the 'wh' words in the example except 'WHY'.
The search filter is exact, though, so a song which begins with 'the' will be filtered out though it might contain 'white' later in the title. So typing 'wh' will not locate 'The White Horse'. The Searchbox helps you quickly determine whether or not you have a title in your database and locate it for viewing, playing the YouTube link or editing the sort order.
'Sort Order' the Default Sort-By Setting
The default Sort-By setting is Sort Order, which is the number assigned to a song's order. Setting a song's order to 3, for example, causes the song to appear as the 3rd song on the list, as long as Sort-By is set to Sort Order. Setting a song's Sort Order to 51 (or higher), on a list of 50 highlighted songs, causes the song to appear in the greyed-out area at the bottom of the list.
Songs Per Page
Songs Per Page determines how many of the song links on the list are brightly highlighted, versus grayed. Setting Song Per Page to 14, for example will cause the first 14 songs to be easily visible on the Song List, which is very useful when using the app as a Set List, during an event.
'Songs Per Page' combined with 'Songs Per Set' produces a Song List, ordered and divided into sets, from the songs you have added to your Song List app. Songs that you have added, are alway there, usable and editable, but simply ordered into the 'Gray Area' if you are not currently using them.
The Songs Per Page setting controls the Gray Area. We chose to leave your entire database of songs visible, with the bottom ones greyed-out, if the greyed-out are moved to a hidden container, out-of-sight, they will not be available to spark ideas, when you scan down your list.
The greyed-out songs beyond the bottom of the screen do not require any additional processing, but are readily available when song ideas are needed. To operate in 'brainstorming mode', just set Songs-Per-Page to the max and they all will be highlighted, for you to sort-order selected songs up to the top for setlist consideration.
Other Options
Click "Show" after the "Other Options" label, to open a hidden panel for Exporting or Importing to or from a CSV file.
To save the song list changes in a CSV export file, give the song list a name (the .csv extension will be added automatically). For example, if you will use the current song list at Roadhouse Club, you could name it "Roadhouse_Club_set10_page31".
The set10 extension will remind you of how many songs per set your song list used, and the page31 extension will remind you of how many songs are highlighted on the song list page. The entire collection of songs, song edit details, including sort orders will be exported to a CSV file. The home page will appear after a successful export.
To import a saved CSV file, click Chose File, under the Import CSV heading. Search for the desired CSV file and select it. The file will not import until you click the Import List button. The home page will appear after a successful import.
